Batch: Vancouver's Pop-Up Bar at Expo Gardens
What used to be a shipping container is now a unique event space that’s uniting great people and creating a vibrant community at Expo Gardens.
Located in the heart of Vancouver, overlooking False Creek, Batch is a pop-up bar offering everything good Vancouver has to offer – craft beer, local food trucks, live music, and open mics.
It all started with travels in Europe and a love for local BC beer.
“I’ve spent a lot of time in these small towns in Norway and the UK playing junior hockey, and people would sit outside in the dead of winter with fur blankets and fire pits. You weren’t just going for a drink, you were going to spend quality time with people,” the Batch owner John Negrin told Curiocity in an interview.
When John came back to Vancouver during the pandemic, he discovered he had a passion for bringing communities together at a time when they seemed to be breaking apart. He approached land owners and developers with his concept of creating community and received support from the owners of Expo Gardens.
Partnering with more than 30 local businesses, from Rosie’s BBQ & Smokehouse, to Salty’s Lobster Shack, to Good Dogs Plant Foods, Batch knows how to keep its guests full and happy.
As for drinks, get ready to enjoy beers from 33 Acres, North Point Brewing, Strange Fellows, (and more), wines from A Sunday in August, cocktails from Olé and a bunch of refreshing non-alcoholic options.
